Privacy Policy

VerbalBuilder (“we”, “us”) is a free, independent study tool for the GRE, SAT, and ACT verbal sections. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this deliberately short and plain.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and a Google account identifier. We never receive or store your Google password.
• Study data you create. Your practice answers, diagnostic results, vocabulary review history, study plans, podcast listening progress, and any essays you submit for grading.
• Usage & technical data. Basic, privacy-friendly analytics about which features are used, standard server logs, and a single session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.

How we use your information

• To provide the service — save your progress, personalize practice, and grade essays.
• To send optional review-reminder emails, but only if you opt in.
• To understand and improve the product, generally in aggregate.

Essays and AI

Practice questions and essay feedback are generated by AI models that we self-host. Essays you submit are processed only to produce your feedback and are stored in your account history. We do not sell your essays or use them to train third-party AI models.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service: Google (sign-in), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), and Amazon SES (only to send reminder emails if you opt in). These providers process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

Email reminders

Reminder emails are opt-in. Every reminder includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can turn reminders off at any time from your profile.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and its associated data at any time by emailing us at the address below.

Security

The service is served over HTTPS, and access to accounts is restricted to the signed-in user. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Children

VerbalBuilder is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 18, please use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
